1975
  • Formation and inauguration of the first chapter of ASI. Formal recognition by the parent body. Constitution ratified.
  • Deputation of members to the parent body. Sponsorship of two postgraduate students from each medical college to attend the state conference.
1980
  • Institution of CME courses including the Dr. Jawaharlal Rohtagi Travelling Fellowship CME course.
  • Institution of the Dr. N.N. Khanna CME course. Annual conference held in Varanasi.
1981
  • Institution of the Dr. S.N. Mathur Memorial Oration.
  • First state-level conference of surgical teachers held in collaboration with Kanpur University.
1986

Establishment of the Dr. R.K. Garg Memorial Award.

1987
  • Institution of the Dr. A.K. Mehrotra Memorial Guest Lecture and Senior Travelling Fellowship.
  • Publication of the first surgical journal issue by the Lucknow Chapter.
1988

The Dr. S.P. Srivastava Oncology Guest Lecture was elevated into a full oration award.

1989

UPASI received the prestigious Best Chapter Award from the Association of Surgeons of India.

1990

Achieved the representation target of two seats in the ASI General Council. Institution of the Enrollment Recognition Award.

1991

Establishment of the Dr. Tara Chandra Surgical Research & Education Foundation by the UP Chapter, honouring the founding spirit of UPASI.
