About the Chapter
The Kanpur Chapter holds a special place in UPASI history as the city that gave the organisation its founding momentum, led by the legendary Dr. Tara Chandra. With the largest number of founder members of any city, Kanpur has been central to shaping UPASI's academic and administrative character since 1975.
Today the chapter continues that tradition with a robust calendar of CME courses, memorial orations and surgical workshops. The Dr. Jawaharlal Rohtagi Travelling Fellowship and the Dr. N.N. Khanna CME course — both instituted in 1980 — remain flagship academic activities conducted in association with the chapter.
